” Nature or Nurture? – the Role of Nutrient-Gene- Environment Interactions in Cardiovascular Disease Risk “

Julie Lovegrove is a Professor of Human Nutrition and is the Head of the Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition and the Deputy Director of the Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research at the University of Reading. Professor Lovegrove’s research focus is the nutritional influences on cardiovascular disease risk, including nutrient-gene interactions. Of particular interest are the effects of dietary fats and phytochemicals on vascular health, insulin sensitivity and lipid metabolism in different population groups. She also sits on a number of external committees including the UK Government’s Scientific Advisory Committee for Nutrition (SACN) and is Deputy Chair for the Council for the Association for Nutrition (AfN).
